Laser Clay Shooting

Corporate 10 Gun Laser Clays

From skeet and sporting to down the line and double trap, clay pigeon shooting can take almost any form, but one discipline you’ve probably never heard of is laser clay pigeon shooting.

Even seasoned shooters are new to this futuristic take on smashing clays, but it’s already proving to be a huge hit with everybody that gives it a go. So, to make sure everybody’s up to speed and ready to join the fun we thought we’d look at what exactly laser clay pigeon shooting is.

First things first, how does it work? Well, for starters the shotguns used in laser clay pigeon shooting are deactivated 12-bore shotguns, which have been converted to fire invisible infrared light. Then there’s the clays, which have also been given a 21st century makeover and fitted with infra-red sensors that automatically detect when they’ve been hit. Every time you nail a clay a signal is sent back to the scoreboard, and as well as receiving a point or two you’ll also hear the distinctive sound of a clay smashing, your gun will also, via an LED on the top barrel, immediately inform you of hits and misses.

The next thing you probably want to know about laser clay pigeon shooting is how the clays are launched – and thankfully it’s a lot easier to explain than the infrared technology! Laser clays are launched in the same way as standard clays and the traps can be adjusted to create just as much variation. You can even increase the difficulty, so if an instructor thinks you’re finding things a little too easy don’t be surprised if they change things up and throw some trickier targets your way.

With the traps and technology covered, all that’s left to explain is how you blast your way to the title of top shot – and there’s nothing quite as competitive as laser clay pigeon shooting! Up to five shooters can take aim at a single clay and although it’s not a race to squeeze the trigger and smash the clay first, getting in early piles the pressure on your opponent’s big time. To make the action even more exciting you’ll also hear the unmistakable sound of shotguns firing, and the shooter that hits the most clays is declared Hot Shot of the day, simple!
