The Fear of Kick back & Bruising

Have you ever thought of trying Clay Pigeon Shooting but been put off by the stories of

Kick back and Bruising.

Well, Fear Not, we have the solution for you.

Why not book a beginner’s session and handle a real, loaded shotgun to shoot artificial targets, (Clay Pigeons). with minimal Kick back, if any at all. Clay Pigeon Shooting is not just for country folk it’s for most abilities from ages 10+

Fear not, it’s good to be a little nervous or anxious, for the first time.

Our professional instructor/s will soon put you at ease by initially explaining all the safety aspects ear protection and how to handle the guns, how to stand, how to aim and all that sort of thing.

Once we have explained how you should hold the gun you will be ready to shout ‘PULL’ to release the air born target.

You’ll probably miss the first clay but will soon become familiar of what’s what and what to expect. As you become more relaxed, you will find the experience a little easier and soon be ‘breaking’ clays.

A Point of Fact. You may wonder why you must shout ‘Pull’ well back in the day, before clays were invented, there used to be pigeon shooting competitions where birds would be held on the ground in specially dug holes and kept in place by top hats. A piece of string was attached to the hat, held at other end by someone standing at a safe distance. The competitor would shout ‘Pull’ and the man with the string, known as the ‘trapper’, would give it a good yank, toppling the hat and releasing the bird. The first pigeon shooting club, called ‘The Old Hats’, was founded in North London in the 1800s.

So, Fear Not, we are the solution for you.
